Dear Students,
This is the site management team of Student Union Connect!
Student Union Connect is an owned media that introduces the activities of the central part of the Ritsumeikan University Student Union.
From now on, we will tell you what kind of activities the department belonging to the central part usually does.
The details are here, so please look.
I am one of the students writing this, and I have been asked the following questions during my activities so far.
What does the Student Union do?
This is the first time I have heard the name Student Union.
(This is just one example; I have been asked in many more ways:-<)
All Ritsumeikan University students pay the Student Union fee and their school fees. It is not good for anyone to have this voice raised even though I am with you in your student life.
I believe that Student Union Connect is one way to solve this problem.
From now on, various departments will communicate the contents of their activities, so I would like you to absorb a lot of “Student Union” from this site, get to know “Student Union,” and live a university life with “Student Union.”
I look forward to working with you!!
…… Oh, I can already hear some questions. Let me answer.
Q. What is the central part of the Student Union?
This figure shows the central part has more than 30 departments (including Special Committees). (It excludes the part that says Authorized Organizations, Semi-authorized Organizations, Voluntary Organizations, and Registered Organizations.)
We collectively call these “Central Parts”.
Please see here for details!
Q. Do I pay the Student Union fee?
Yes. We collect it together with your school fees.
The annual membership fee is 5000 yen for all students and 3000 yen for the first-year students.
The activities of our Student Union are made up of the membership fees we receive from everyone!
In other words, without this Student Union fee, we cannot hold the new students’ welcome and school festival, and we would not be able to support extracurricular activities.
See the details here as well.
Also, please check out the “Public Finance Disclosure” every year.
Q. What is the purpose of the Student Union?
Ritsumeikan University Student Union is the largest student self-governing organization in Japan in which all students of Ritsumeikan University join and conduct activities by students for students. Based on the philosophy of ” Shaping Ritsumeikan with you,” we are working to contribute to the development and improvement of students’ lives at the university and the development of the university and society through these activities.
As a concrete activity, there are six pillars of the Student Union.
You can see the details here, so please check it once.
…… I wrote quite a lot of sentences from the first time. Please forgive me.
That’s all for now. Thank you!
